About Me

Personal History

Although I was born in Midland, Texas, my family moved back to my father's hometown in rural, western Kentucky shortly before my brother Curtis was born. I come from a large extended family and was among the first in my family to attend a four-year college or university.

Academic Career

In my academic life, I began my mathematical career at Transylvania University, the sixteenth oldest college in the United States located in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. After graduation, I was accepted to study at Indiana University - Bloomington where I subsequently decided to pursue an MS in Applied Statistics, which I obtained in 2017, en route to my PhD. I graduated from the PhD program in Spring 2019. I accepted a visiting position at Denison University, a small liberal arts college in Granville, Ohio, where I taught until May 2021. I am now an Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
